Dear parishioners and friends of Saint Cecilia. Our long and exciting history on E 152nd and Kinsman comes to an end. What an amazing story it has been as this community has served so many people of varied races and nationalities in the best of times and the worst of times. Since 1915 our nation has been through numerous wars, depression, recessions, and revolutions in thinking. From riches to rags, in joy and in sorrow, in peaceful times and stormy times our church and school stood strong providing what was needed for all those who came to her. As the doors are closed on the 25th of April it will become a complete story that can be read over and over again, of God’s sacramental love touching the human with divine. We are chosen to make this last word of the story a triumph by using all that we are and all that we have to make His presence a reality by the way we follow His directions. Go forth from here today to baptize all nations, teaching them to carry out all that He has commanded us and knowing that He is with us even till the end of the earth. These words He spoke to His disciples at the ascension He speaks to us. Wherever you go from here, whatever you do or say, do all in the name of love and let the song of St. Cecilia live in your hearts and be felt making music throughout the world.
